Closer Pt.2

In the last post we were talking about coming closer to God like never before. A scripture comes to mind when I think about this subject:

Psalms 91
1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”
3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler[a]
And from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

That word abide is so important your happiness in life. I remember when I was little and I would be somewhere where I didn't know people I would hold onto my mom or dad for dear life. I would stay right underneath them as if they were shielding me from something. That is abiding, taking up residence under Gods presence. You have to take a stance and say no matter what comes my way, who mi look at, I am staying put in His presence. Just like when I try to stay put on Doctor Caves beach to get a tan under the sun, I am not leaving that beach till I am purple. That is how you have to be with Gods presence. You have to say, I am not leaving, I am here till the end, I need you cant live without you Lord.

Verse 2-6 shows you the benefit of abiding, "PROTECTION!" I know it gets hard in Hanover and Anchovy and Kingston and South Central and Compton or Watts. But God says that if you take up residence in His presence He's gotch you. Can't no blood, crip, yard boy, rude boy take you out. As long as you abide in HIM.
